Fly Away With Me

Hi everyone!  I know today is Saturday but I have a card for you to check out.  It's a card I made using the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine stampset and the sketch from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

Here's the CAS card I made using this sketch:

And here's the sketch:

My CAS card began with me cutting the blueish card stock to a standard size card and scoring with the Martha Stewart scoring board at 5½" since it's a top folding card and set it aside.

For the circle, I got some white card stock and used the second biggest circle die from Spellbinders Nestabilities circles dies and my Sizzix Big Shot machine.

I then used the blending tool and Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass to create the sky on the card stock.

Once that was done I stamped the bumble bee from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine stampset on yellow card stock using VersaFine pigment ink in Onyx Black and then stamped it again on the circle card stock.  Then using the same ink I stamped the bee trail from the same stamp set.

Since VersaFine is a pigment ink it takes a while to dry so I made sure the bee in the yellow card stock was dry before I started fussy cutting the bee with the EK Success Cutter Bee scissors (such an appropriate name for what I was cutting ^_^).

Once I fussy cut it I traced the outline with a black marker and then used Tombow Mono liquid glue to glue down the yellow bee to the bee I stamped on the circle card stock.

I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine pigment ink in Onyx Black as well.  I thought I was done with this circle but then decided to color the inside of the bee's wings with a white gel pen and a punched out heart.

I decided to dig through my scraps and found two pattern papers that I thought would look nicely with this card and cut banner shapes using the EK Success Cutter Bee scissors.  I adhered them down using my ATG gun and then adhered the circle card stock using Tombow Mono liquid glue.

I thought I was finished with the card but then decided to round the bottom right corner using the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper Tool (I used the ½" side).

I also decided to do something to the inside and this is what I did to match the outside:

Here's another image of the card:

Let me know what you think;  I really love hearing your comments :)

Have a great day!
